Masculine a-stem
The biggest masculine strong noun class. Has a thematic vowel "π°" and has an ending "-π" in nominative singular. Like in other masculine and neuter classes, masculine a-stem duals have different sets of endings for animate and inanimate nouns.

In the masculine a-stem nouns ending in a short vowel + π (diphtongs are not considered short vowels), the nominative singular -π is dropped. The same rule also applies to other nouns that have nominative singular ending "-π" as well as to adjectives.
