Masculine i-stem
Another large masculine strong class, though smaller than masculine a-stem. Has a thematic vowel "πΉ" and has an ending "-π" in nominative singular. Like in other masculine and neuter classes, masculine a-stem duals have different sets of endings for animate and inanimate nouns.
Masculine i-stem is conjugated similarly to feminine i-stem and neuter i-stem classes from the same i-subgroup.

In the masculine i-stem nouns ending in a short vowel + π (diphtongs are not considered short vowels), the nominative singular -π is dropped. The same rule also applies to other nouns that have nominative singular ending "-π" as well as to adjectives.
Note, that the nominative singular ending "-π" is also used by following classes:
- Masculine a-stem
- Feminine i-stem
- Masculine nd-stem
- Masculine sc-stem
- Feminine sc-stem
