Wistrish noun numbers
Unlike English, which only has two numbers, or Gothic, which parially has three, Wistrish has four of them:
- Singular number is used to mark one of a countable noun or some non-specific uncountable noun.
- Dual number is used mark exactly two of a noun. Duals are mandatory: when the context implies two of somethin, duals are always used.
- Paucal number displays a small multitude of the noun.
- Plural number displays a large multitude or generalizations.
Paucals generally refer to small groups of a noun if the exact number is not specified. With cardinal numbers that don't require genitive, paucals are used for number from 3 to 5, while plurals refer to all larger numbers (unless the number is complex and has a non-genitive minor component, in which cases the agreement only follow that minor component). This does not mean that any paucal number only refers to five-or-less groups, it is simply a rule of agreement with cardinal numerals.
